TELEMEDICINE

Today I saw my patient, Innocent,  that I discussed in my Blog of 9/2/11-but he was in Nigeria and I was in Texas. We had a telemedicine followup via Gmail! I took the picture below of my computer screen during our televisit. You may remember that this patient had a massive dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans-fibrosarcomatous variant (DFSP-FS) of the face. We resected the tumor. After 3 months, he developed a small recurrence (0.5 cm) at the wound edge and we removed this as well. Now we are sending him for radiation. If we can get a slightly better webcam, I may be able to do telesurgery!
